How Langa reviews SaaS tools for Australian operators

Langa scores every recommended tool on the same four axes — the rubric is publicly disclosed here so the score is reproducible, and so an Australian operator can rerun the same check against a vendor we have not yet reviewed. Commissions are disclosed on every monetised page; the rubric follows.

We only recommend tools we believe provide genuine value to Australian small businesses. All recommendations comply with the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010) and the ACCC guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. Opinions expressed are our own.

The 4-axis rubric

What every score is built on

The four axes below are scored for every tool on Langa. The order is deliberate: the first two confirm the tool actually works for an Australian operator; axes three and four confirm the vendor relationship can stand up under Australian Consumer Law. A tool can score well on AU support and still fail axis three, and vice versa — every axis is reported independently in the matching review.

Axis 01

AU pricing & billing

Listed price in AUD, GST treatment of the bill, USD-billing exposure for ABN holders, the BAS impact when the vendor charges in a foreign currency, and whether the headline tier matches what an Australian sole trader or small operator actually pays at renewal.

Axis 02

AU support region

Live chat and phone support windowed inside Australian Eastern Standard Time, AU-specific documentation and help-centre content, and a real escalation path for an Australian customer rather than a generic global inbox that takes 36 hours to respond from another timezone.

Axis 03

ACCC-disclosure posture

The vendor's own position on affiliate disclosure and sponsored content, the price the vendor pays a publisher for promoting the tool, the vendor's complaints-handling track record under Australian Consumer Law, and whether the vendor's own testimonial policy matches the ACCC's guidance on endorsements and testimonials in advertising.

Pass mark — vendors with a written affiliate-disclosure policy and an AU-resident complaints contact clear this axis without a caveat.

Axis 04

Refund / trial terms

Money-back window in plain English, what the free tier actually ships before a credit card has to be entered, cancellation friction (auto-renewal traps, support-ticket-required cancellations, hidden retainer clauses), and whether the vendor refunds the unused portion of an annual plan after cancellation.
